Any possibility of Hays and Cotton both winning?

It certainly is. I think Cotton basically has his race locked up.

I think it was Miles who said Pryor is likely to win CD2 even if he loses.

^ Yeah, Ross as well.

In the close 2010 Treasurer's race, for example, the Democrat lot statewide by 3 but carried this seat by 10.

Hays is from a swingy area of the district, which also helps.

Hey, I've been saying that too. Tongue And I've also been bashing the pundits for keeping it at lean R because "arkansauce is red!1!!1!!"

I think me and Miles were the only Dems here who thought this district was truly winnable. We now accept our accolades.

And I've been the only republican who has been saying that Democrats were going to win the seat.  It has always been in Hays Court.

*Ahem* Angry Tongue

From "Who Will Win These House Races":

Graham, Shea-Porter, Mooney, Rahall, Hays, Comstock

*snip* AR-2 could be competitive with a strong Democrat, especially as an open seat. *snip*

I now accept my accolades.

I never really paid attention, but I looked at the surface of the race and saw why. Not only is this generally a good area for Arkansas Dems, but Patrick Hays is running a great campaign, while French Hill continues to fumble the ball.

Unless the Republican candidate is absolute garbage I have a difficult time believing a Democrat is going to pick up an R+8 seat in a year looking to heavily favor Republicans.

The myth that Arkansas is a solidly Republican state throughout only started during the Obama era.  Democrats can absolutely still win there, especially in that district.
