I am just speculating here, but could a candidate like Deval Patrick, a very strong public speaker who knows how to rally the Democratic base, be a serious challenger to Hilary?

Didn't his wife have alot of issues? That would probably be hinted at during the campaign.

Patrick seems like a fairly weak candidate. There are the issues with his wife, and he failed to break fifty percent when running for Governor in Massachusetts. It's also plausible that he'll be followed by a Republican.

But he would have some strengths in a primary.
He comes from that big state next to New Hampshire. He would likely do well with black voters who dominate certain primary states. And he has a record of liberal accomplishment that would allow him to run to Hillary's left. However, second black President is not going to excite as many primary voters as first female President.
