Comcast was similar. We had $95 for the first two years, then it went up to $149, so I called and they said that if I did the "triple play" option it would decrease to $129, so that's what I have now. Cable TV with some premium package and HBO; BLAST internet; telephone. We got the telephone over the summer. How is it cheaper if I get the telephone line? It's a promotional deal, sir. But it's 149 with cable and internet, 129 with cable, internet, and phone. It's a promotional deal, sir. I don't need a phone. I don't think I own a phone that plugs into the wall. We just give you a phone number, sir, and you don't have to use it. I have no idea what that phone number is. I have it written down somewhere but I've forgotten it. I've never even plugged a phone into the wall to see if it works. Somewhere, in a box in the basement there's an old touch-tone phone and if I ever run across it I may plug it in to see if I get a dial tone.
I think we'll lose HBO after the holidays. That'll make it $115. We'll keep the BLAST. (I'm sure that stands for something but I'm not sure what.) They claim that it's 50 Mbps but the fastest test speed I ever got was 34, and it's typically more like 20 or 21. Still, it's probably faster than the alternatives.
