I'm on board with the spirit of this law, but do we plan on attaching some sort of penalty if it is violated? It would seem like nothing more than a mere statement if we did not. I'll wait for the sponsor to weigh in on the bill before proposing anything, however.

This is a very good idea; what are the specific penalties you have in mind?

As for the intent of this bill, it's simple. To paraphrase Legislator Dereich's words when he introduced the original version of this bill to the IDS Legislature, this would prevent incidents like the nonsense we saw earlier this month with "rebellions". We had people claiming to represent entire states or areas of our region, when in reality all that was going on was some people LARPing.

Sounds good to me.

How about a 2/4 month ban on voting for Northeast offices?

Following Gov. Talleyrand's suggestion, I propose this amendment.

Abstain - I'm a bit late to the party but I don't think we have the authority to restrict people's ability to vote in Federal (e.g. Government of Atlasia) Elections.

I didn't catch this in time and I'm sorry for not being in here more, but Dallasfan is right: we can't restrict their federal voting rights. I'll have to ABSTAIN on this one as well.

The voting period is now over. By a vote of 3-0, this bill passes and goes to the governor for his signature or veto.

I'm asking the Governor for a veto so we can rework this (either in this Assembly or the next.)
