...just thank whatever deity you may or may not believe in that we're not having a repeat of the AIDS crisis.

So Republicans are going to outright campaign against black people in response to this?

The desperation is palpable. An election must be near.

It's okay because Reagan was white.

Fox News' Keith Ablow said that Obama isn't protecting us from Ebola because of his African connections. I don't think you can get much more racist than that.

Yup, Reagan was a homophobic scumbag.

Reagan did not have political opinions. And people say that Bush was a puppet.

Someone wrote in the opinion page of my local newspaper the other day that we should ship Ebola patients to ISIS camps and get rid of ISIS that way. Now we already knew that international law means nothing to the US government in terms of foreign policy, but biological warfare? That's a new low.

Coincidence?

So did humanity. So did much of civilization (if from the far-northeastern corner of Africa).

It might be worth noting however that Reagan advocated against a California ballot measure that would have prohibited homosexuals from serving as public school teachers, which only failed narrowly.  (Then-President Carter also spoke out against it.)  Whatever backbone he had as a California politician on this issue clearly evaporated as he adopted a decidedly anti-humanitarian attitude of neglect towards AIDS due to stereotypes of its victims.
