I don't know exactly why (probably due to graduating high school), but I've been extremely nostalgic these past few months. In response the NYT report on chemical weapons in Iraq, neocons have been doing their best to make it seem 2005 all over again. Quite frankly I was surprised at the resurrection of these decade-old apologia for the Iraq War, down to bizarre claims that Karl Rove deliberately tried to quash reports of WMDs.

Ah, those halcyon third-grade days of Revenge of the Sith, Boxcar Children, and listening to Limbaugh and Hannity arguing WMDs had been taken to Syria on talk radio.
