Either she's trying to ruin Walker's chances or she hates Parnell.

Palin is super unpopular in Alaska, so maybe this is a sneaky strategy to knock off Walker and re-elect Parnell.

Then again, Palin isn't exactly known for sneaky political strategy Tongue

Whether it was Palin's idea or not (and I doubt it was), this was a brilliant move and can only help Parnell.

Maybe this will be Sarah Palin's new means of generating income now that her political career is over, her reality show has fizzled out and she has no other viable skills.

She can threaten to torpedo politicians' campaigns by endorsing them, and agree not to endorse them in exchange for a cash payout.

"Well hey there...that sure is one nice lookin' Senate campaign ya got there! It'd be a shame if somethin' happened to it...maybe like an unexpected endorsement from a maverick up in Alaska...Ya know the last person who crossed me the wrong way ended up getting their hair extensions pulled out by my 12 year-old daughter on the front lawn of a house party. There's somethin' to think on for a bit."

...What the hell? Parnell was her Lt. Gov, and I don't remember them having any bad blood (but I could be wrong there). She must have an ulterior motive here.

I don't think this will really make any difference, but I do think that she has a motive.

As the article notes, he scrapped her oil tax increase, which she was darn proud of.

I honestly have no close how this race will turn out. Either could win by 10% and I wouldn't be surprised.

I've never met a believer in conspiracy theories that wasn't also an imbecile. A high degree of idiocy is a sine qua non condition to engage in that type of thought process.

I'm fairly sure this is all about the MAPA, the oil tax program, which also happens to be the only issue that really matters in Alaska. Palin and Parnell has always been at odds in this since he proposed the new law; she lost the referendum in August and this is her last chance of getting the law reversed. This won't come as a surprise to most people in Alaska.

I doubt it has any noticeable effect; let alone that it might hurt Walker.

It would be hilarious if Walker, an independent, managed to win with a coalition of Democrats and Palinite Republicans, while Parnell loses despite having the independents and mainstream Republicans.

Why exactly is Parnell even struggling? Has he done anything wrong?

We don't know that he actually is struggling; Alaska polls are basically polls of just Anchorage because there's almost no landline penetration in the rest of the state.

But rural Alaska is afaik leaning Democratic, isn't it?
