Kind of surprised he was first. I thought I remember reading Bernie Sanders or Rand Paul were in favor but apparently not quite?

So a few % support in the Senate meanwhile it's polling at 50-55% nationally.

Clearly he's running scared of the #Wehbymentum and trying to find a wedge issue to stop his impending landslide defeat.

I do wonder why no other senator or governor has endorsed legalisation. I'm not even a majot "420 legalise now!!" guy, but it is pretty incredible that the cannabis legalisation machine is running at full whack, trying to legalise everywhere, and ever state official of note - even people who aren't normally afraid to rock the boat like Rand Paul and his allies, or the Sanders/Warren caucus, or the Colorado and Washington delegations. It's mysterious Tongue

So glad he won in 2008. Can you imagine if Gordon Smith were still Senator? LOL

I don't really care about the marijuana issue but I think Merkley would make a great president.

John McCain said something like "maybe we should legalize marijuana" a few months back.

He's seriously the first one? Wow, is there this rule that if you're a politician you can't endorse marijuana legalization? I don't get it. The majority of the public is in favor of it.

I'm sure that quite a few Senators would agree with him (privately, of course)
