This really has the chance to be an exciting Election Night.  Look at how many close races there are across the country for control of the Senate, the House and in the statehouses.  We also see the minority parties with some big chances to pickup seats not only in the House (MA/HI for example for the GOP) but also in the Senate (GA/KY for the Democrats).

I have a feeling there will be a large number of races remaining uncalled through the night, with a minimal number of "poll-closing" calls.

It also remains to be seen whether the GOP completely sweeps the Senate this year and some of the big Gubernatorial races, or whether again, Democrats find a way to mitigate the losses and even steal a few races of their own.

I'm psyched

I am pumped.  I love close races and uncertainty.

Close races are one of my life's greatest joys. Regardless of the outcome, at least I know I'll get one hell of a show getting that far.

The rush, positive or negative, after a close race is called is amazing regardless of the feeling

It's crazy that 538 is currently currently predicting 10 Senate races with a margin of 5 points of less.

Yes, especially after expecting a long night in 2012 and being disappointed.

God yes! I don't know where I'm gonna be on Election Night, though. I ought to find a party somewhere.

Yes. I'm going to go to bed right after school on the 3rd to get some extra sleep for Tuesday night.

I have to get up at 5:30 AM and get in line by 6:15ish. The lines here are volatile. They were fairly long in 2010, and very, very long in 2008 and 2012. With a Governors race like this, there is no telling how big turnout will be. I wake up at 6:50 AM each morning anyway, so assuming I get in exactly at 7:00 AM, I should be able to quickly shower and be out the door and be at school by 7:50 AM.

If I wake up late, I'll go vote, and just go into school whenever Tongue.

I'm psyched, even if its looking bad for the Democrats in the Senate, it should be super exciting to watch!

Very excited, though all of the narrow Republican advantages (which seem to outnumber the narrow Democratic advantages) have me worried that something somewhere will get loose. 538 had a fantastic article about how the GOP is favored in six individual races called the "Maroon Six", but taken collectively most likely will only win 5 of them. Georgia's gotten away from us since then, too.

The only narrow Democratic Senate advantages are Hagan and Shaheen, and those seem a lot more solid than Ernst's and Gardner's.

Yeah, this is going to be an entertaining one. Gonna grab some pizza and beers with a couple of other friends who follow politics and enjoy the show.

When it's 11:19 on election night and Senate control isn't called yet, perhaps you'll finally realize that your idea that the polls are all wrong is just as bogus as romney's unskewing of polls in 2012.

It's going to be nuts, and the best will be the simultaneous getting smashed with my pol friends when the Dems have a big night.

If they don't have a big night we'll still get smashed, but for much more depressing reason.

I'm not psyched, I like complete and utter blowouts.

If it's a Democratic blowout, it means I can start speculating on ideas that may come to pass to bring the state forward w/out the kicking and screaming.

If it's a Republican blowout, it means I can just shake my head and check the state off the list of places to live in.

And either way there'll be fewer ads everywhere.

All tight races mean is partisanship and as of late $4 billion wasted, it means on election night having to worry about one county ruining everything instead of being able to count up the counties collected/counties defiant to the end [as will be the case with Brown vs Kashkari]

I just want it all done already, even without having to face the probability of a completely hostile Congress ensuing.

This was the GOP election to begin with. But Dems seem to find ways to win.

The uncertainty of election outcomes is most of the fun. Tongue I felt cheated by 2012 election night. Even if the end result didn't change, I was pumped that it was going to be a nail-biter til the end. When Obama won 15 or so minutes later than he did in 2008, that was a huge let-down.
