In my opinion: clearly NO!

That's because Thomas did not only make a spelling error, he did not know the exact word.

If he had written something like "emanzipation", I would have let him get away with this.

Exactly. Thomas wouldn't even have won, even if they had let him pass, as his contender Skyler Hornback won with $66,000.

This was like a year ago, Jeopardy's clear and consistent rules were followed, and the kid would have lost anyway if they'd made a special exception just for him.

In other words, who cares? Props to Jeopardy for being consistent.
