God, I hate this idiot. It's his fault that Stephanie Herseth Sandlin didn't run, and he should've dropped out in favor of Pressler ages ago.

Well, that was a fun race for the two weeks it lasted.

If the Dems lose the Senate by one seat, let it rest at the feet of Rick Weiland and Tom Daschle.

Herseth-Sandlin would have probably been winning easily at this point, with a Pressler that everyone had ignored taking about 5-10% of the old Republican vote who remember him fondly and don't realize he's become a left-wing Democrat since he left the Senate and a Mike Rounds mired in scandal. Sad

If Rounds loses, it'll be to Pressler.

Seriously, Weiland needs to build a bridge and get over it. He's awful.

You know something? Other websites are saying this is a very bold move by Weiland. Why all the Debbie Downerism here?

Which is worse: Rounds's scandal, or this?

Probably because Weiland is going to cost us this seat and should have dropped out when Pressler started surging, or better yet, never ran in the first place.

I actually am not surprised by this. Telling the Democrats to screw off is pretty much tantamount to allow Weiland to get Indies, no?

To be fair to Caprio, they actually did screw him. The DSCC has actually been fully fighting for Weiland, so he's just being a child.

"Bold" and "idiotic" aren't mutually exclusive.

Pressler is overrated. Orman is a much better candidate.

My gut says this is a little too soon.  Even if there is only a week left, things can shift fast as we've seen with polling.

Weiland's comment is utterly idiotic.  Negative ads work.  Just look at NC-Senate and see how Kay Hagan and Senate Majority PAC decimated Tillis.

It still doesn't sound like Weiland is a fan of Harry Reid:

[quote]Escalating his feud with national Democrats, South Dakota Democratic Senate nominee Rick Weiland announced this morning that he’s starting a national petition drive to replace Harry Reid as majority leader with progressive Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
