Nixon.

Reagan also sabotaged peace talks, and he sabotaged his own debate to his favor. And his economic policies were downright monstrous. And his foreign policy consisted of picking and choosing dictators and terrorists to support on a dime.

Then there's what he against the Free Speech Movement, and how he started his campaign.

And supporting Apartheid.

Maybe he himself wasn't terrible, but the legacy he left is the most disastrous and still cripples any progress today given how many in Congress refuse to do anything in the name of "free markets,no government"./ "screw those poor lazy bums". He still has Iran Contra too

And finally, there's a damn good reason Nixon got more of the black vote.

This isn't to say Nixon is stellar, I'm reading The Nixon Tapes and it is ghastly, but it has nothing on the cronies of Reagan [especially Oliver North].

Nixon at least had some good domestic policies.

Reagan's presidency was better of course.

I prefer Nixon on a personal level though.

The guy who managed to ride out his scandals without resignation, as awful as that is to say.

Now I have to go wash my mouth out.

It was a very hard choice, and I just now cast my vote after two days of thinking about it from to time. Voted for Reagan.

Voted for Nixon, but it was close. In general I have very little good to say about Reagan and with Nixon there are at least some significant strengths I can point to (EPA, Detente, China) along with the disgustingly bad (sabotage of Paris Peace Conference, secret bombing of Cambodia, Watergate).
