marxists.org is a wonderful resource.  not because all of the material is super-awesome -- the sheer volume of it precludes that possibility.

but, it is quite a resource for people who are genuinely interested in the World and are willing to spend some time struggling to understand certain complex topics, instead of poisoning their brains with cheap clickbait thrills that kill the attention span and hollow the soul.

marxists.org is a devoted, specialized resource website with all sorts of fascinating primary-source material on one of the most consequential ideologies in modern history. I have it not only bookmarked, but in my bookmarks toolbar, right between biblegateway.com and jisho.org. Upworthy is vapid drivel. This isn't a contest.

I assume there's better content on it than the unreadable crap Snowstalker keeps linking to then?

Much better. Even within the context of his ideology his taste is awful.

he's a child.  he feels the need to get the orthodox basics down before finding his niche within it.  any American teen who gets deep into Marxism deserves a major +.

Thanks.

When I was a teenager I was super into it. I was a staunch Trotskyist and was obsessed with the Spanish Civil War and the corruption of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia.

But then I grew up and became a Social-Democrat.

once, I was young and impulsive
I wore every conceivable pin
even went to the socialist meetings
learned all the old union hymns
but I've grown older and wiser
and that's why I'm turning you in
so love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
