Fairly often. My great-aunt and great-uncle from Virginia have a condo down here now that they have retired and are over a lot. They spend half the year here. My aunt and uncle often make the two hour drive down here from where they live, yet my aunt from my dads family lives 15 minutes away and we never see them.

What do you count as extended family? I see my grandparents at least once a week when I'm living with my mom and dad.

None of the options really fit, though I voted for the third option.

"Never" would be a more accurate option, or "once in a great many years," although I'd change that if I could.  My parents are dead and my wife's parents live ten thousand miles away.  Also, she has one sister who lives at least a thousand miles away and I have one sister who lives at least a thousand miles away.  Each of them has only one son so that my son only has two cousins.  Certainly I'd like to see them all more frequently than I do, and I'd like for my son to get to know his cousins.  He's met each of them but it has been so long that he probably doesn't even remember them.  I'd also like to see my cousins and my surviving uncles and aunts as well, but they all live very far away.  You really should have an option that says "not as often as I'd like to."

Is an aunt/uncle extended?  If so, 1-2 times a year.  If it goes further than that... Never .

Rarely to never; we hate most of our extended family.

I've probably averaged a little more than 1 visit "home" per year since I became an adult, so option 3.

My extended family is either crazy, or lives in the middle of nowhere, with considerable overlap.

None of the above.  I essentially only see my extended family at weddings and funerals, but I don't like that at all; I would like to see them more.

My cousins in NH and I are very close, and I see my grandmother in NH a lot too. The rest a few times a year.

oh...EXTENDED family....like cousins and sh**t?  Then much less frequently.  Only when a grandparent dies, and all mine are dead.  It's been over a decade since I've seen several of my cousins/uncles/aunts. (and it's not like I've got dozens of them)

Since we've all been scattered across the country, just a few times a year.

I mean I currently live with my aunt in Massachusetts, so quite often. Tongue

Yes, this definitely applies to me as well.

I do have a couple aunts, an uncle, and distant cousins living in my area, but I don't know my distant cousins that well.  I do see my aunts and uncle a couple times a month, though.

Bushie and his relations' use of their octogenarian relative as a hostess to wait on them is absolutely disgusting, yes.

Very rarely. I see my uncle and cousin from South Carolina about twice a year, but other than that, not much. Most of my cousins are around a decade older than I am and live in other states, so I don't really know them. The uncles and aunts I've been close to are dead. My grandparents are dead and have been for years. My grandmother before I was born. I'm not even especially close with my three brothers, though I still see two of them regularly.

I do talk to my second cousin who lives in England a few times a month though. Her son is a year younger than I am.

I'm not close to my extended family at all, I've spoken to the vast majority of them only a few times in my life. I only have two aunts that I'm close to, including their husband/wife, and two cousins.
