So you guys aren't going to believe what happened. The bag of candy I got from trick or treating is now empty.... because in the past 4 days my dad has eaten ALL MY CANDY!

I am so pissed. Should I sue him? I earned that candy.

I've never been trick-or-treating, largely because my parents thought that Halloween was rather silly, and of course I'd have been too old for trick or treating after I passed the age of 10 or so. Anyway, I hate Halloween with a passion. I mean, if we're going to have a corporate-sponsored opportunity for people to have a piss-up and generally behave like idiots, at the very least can't it be derived from a nice, wholesome Christian festival, in the way Christmas is, rather than some bizarre amalgamation of the horror genre and neo-paganism.

I suggest you read these to become better acquainted with your own religion:

Christianity: The Origins of a Pagan Religion -by Philippe Walter

Pagan Christianity? Exploring the Roots of Our Church Practices -by Frank Viola and George Barna

True, slight... oversight on my part in the original post. Nevertheless, whilst its arguable that, at a stretch, Christmas is still tangentially related to Christianity, it is not so with regards to Halloween. I mean, I think that most people would know that Christmas has a Christian connection, something that I doubt could be said for Halloween.

More to the point, I'd say that Halloween these days is far more influenced by what I described than by any lingering Christian traditions.

16.  My last Halloween costume was a clown, just like my first.  But my baby costume was homemade, while the other one was mostly a wig and some makeup.
