Decent turn out in my majority black Harlem precinct. I've never voted here in a presidential year, so it's hard to tell, but it was obviously a lot more than in the mayor's race last year or either of this year's primaries.

I find that hard to believe....

Unless theres something different about the gubernatorial race, cuomo has the reputation of a rock within the black community compared to De Blasio.

I don't know. Could just be the time of the day.

609 people have two hours remaining to show up and vote in Munster's 5th precinct (not my precinct, but I was a last-minute replacement), which leans Republican. Only 165 have voted in 10 hours.

But I heard 3 anti-Obama jokes, and had one very pissy old man who didn't want to hear us explain how he registered under a different name and that's why we had to manually search for him using the new license-scanning poll book machines.

God I hate bitter old people. Thankfully I saw many parents of people I know and my "coworkers" are chill, so that was nice.

I saw a black guy today with a I Voted sticker in New Mexico. Expect African American turnout nationwide to be double what is projected.

The combination of Obama being the greatest president in many decades and the GOP going into to overdrive to disenfranchise them have turned African-Americans into a high propensity voting demographic.

Not turnout related but in African American New Mexican news, beloved black Albuquerque homeless man Bernie Thomson was found dead on Central Ave by the Days Inn. Sad

Bernie was a beacon of light and legend among all under 30s in the ABQ/University Park area, for his ability to sing MoTown hits with beautiful tone and his Yelp-esque knowledge of the best and worst weed dealers in town.

He claimed to be a native New Yorker and refused cash donations, only cigarettes and McDonalds chicken nuggets. It is not known how or why Bernie came to Albuquerque, but he will be missed.

I haven't seem a single Rick Snyder sign in Detroit. Plus one of my black co workers wrote "remember to vote" on our white board in the break room.
