He would still be in the Senate if he ran against Markey in 2013. Gabriel Gomez came within single digits. And he wouldn't've lost in this climate, either. And if we'd gotten someone better to run against Jeanne Shaheen -- Dan Innis and Chris Sununu come to mind -- we might have that one as well by now. It's clear the "carpetbagger" line of attack stuck, and Shaheen still barely won.

You know, considering the results tonight (particularly ones like MA-Gov and MD-Gov) I'm half convinced he'd be in the Senate had he run against Markey in 2014.

Nah, Markey still would've been safe. Vosem is probably right though.
