There are FOUR schools of thought in regards to why Crist lost. Which one do you belong to?

#1

The environment - The environment was so bad that Democrats went down in the flames across the board. Why should Florida be any different? Charlie Crist lost simply because of the terrible environment

#2

Charlie Crist himself - Things have been downhill for Crist ever since his disastrous senate run. The truth is, he was seen as a fraud without any core values. Democrats didn't trust him because he was a former Republican, Republicans didn't like him because he was a traitor and independents/moderates were turned off by his blatant opportunism. Charlie Crist lost because of Charlie Crist.

#3

Florida Democratic Party - It's a well-established fact that the FDP is very incompetent. They have a record of losing when they shouldn't. Charlie Crist lost because the FDP couln't help him out in this critical race.

#4

Pitbull - About a week ago, ultra famous rapper Pitbull gave a shoutout to Rick Scott over Twitter. This isn't just any shout-out, this was a shout-out from Pitbull. Charlie Crist lost because of Pitbull. DOLLY!

A combination of Crist himself and again, a very, very weak statewide Democratic Party that needs some soap/water in its offices.  That was embarrassing for FL Democrats.

I'd say the overall environment. Is Pit still stuck in Alaska?

I think it was the environment and Crist himself. The bench is pretty much non-existent, so I doubt others could have done much better.

Shame on any of you who didn't vote for the obvious answer.

Charlie Crist is one of the most transparently soulless political creatures in recent memory. I knew Democrats pinning their hopes on him would end badly.

Of course Lucifer Scott is far worse, but I just knew he'd pull it out against Crist Sad  PLEASE find better candidates next time. Gwen Graham shows some promise as of now.

He switched parties too much.  Next he'll run in the green party.

I'll go with the national mood. I don't think you can blame the FDP - the FDP has been so bad for so long that they really don't have that much ability to revolutionize things quickly.

1. Rick Scott's spending.
2. Crist's Integrity problem aka switching parties.
3. The enviroment that democrats ran under.

This race should never have been close to begin with. Even with the 2014 election environment, Rick Scott could easily have gone down Corbett-style against a decent opponent.

I'm with KC on this one, except I'll add the huge last minute moolah to Scott as well as low turnout.

Florida Dems. Scott should have never been elected initially. He's on the level of Angle, O'Donnell, Akin, etc.

The FL Democratic party is obviously pathetic, but hardly unique. Ernst is just as crazy as the people on your list.

I think it was mainly the environment, as well as statistics in Florida.

From my understanding, the state economy was doing pretty well. That marks a good time to be Governor.

Bill Nelson might have won, but Crist was likely the best alternative to him that Democrats had.
