My opinion of ANGUS KING is somewhat lower than ANGUS KING's opinion of ANGUS KING.

King is a moderate, not a moderate hero. A moderate hero is a member of a party who votes against their own interests to be edgy for attention-"hey guys look at me! I'm so moderate and sane." King, Manchin, etc, are genuine moderates who vote their conscience. Olympia Snowe and her likes are moderate heroes. At least this has always been my understanding of the term.

Amusing.

I don't even think he's truly a moderate. He's independent, but that doesn't really entail being moderate - kind of how like Washington was essentially a Federalist, but just disliked the party fray.

And yes, I may have accidentally compared Angus King with George Washington. I hope he doesn't google his name and find that comparison, that would swell his ego to dangerous levels.

Sure, he's a bit of an attention whore but he's still a nice sane moderate in a Congress chocked by partisanship. FF.

Dude, YOUR opinion on gun control is not the de facto "normal" position, making anyone to your right a "gun nut."  Looking at your PM scores and knowing that you used to have a blue avatar, I'm guessing your holier than thou views on Second Amendment rights are the main reason you're now a Democrat, which I find trivial.

FTR, EVERYONE in upper New England, Democrat or Republican, is a "gun nut" to you.  We really like the Constitution.

FF, his principled left positions on foreign policy and social policy make him a strong ally of mine, and the fact that he isn't a radical elsewhere is an added bonus. I don't find his tone to be particularly enjoyable, but otherwise he is much preferable than Senator Mike Michaud or Troy Jackson (muh working class).
