There's a running joke which I didn't get.  I saw the question and assumed Boss Tweed wanted other's to label his sociopolitical outlook for him.  So I did.  Apparently many people started to misinterpret the question and make statements about their own politics.  I was very embarassed and assumed I had misinterpreted.  Then, later, I figured out I had correctly interpreted it to begin with.  

That is, how do you characterize Boss Tweed?
