I am surprised the HP option is currently winning. She is an HP, though.

Why are you surprised? I think I've seen this poll multiple times and never with FF winning. The Republican + True Leftist coalition usually gives most mainstream Democrats a HP result.

FF.  Subject to change if she runs to the center and becomes an appeaser of the GOP in 2016.  She needs to look in the mirror and remember this person.

She is absolutely awful, thus she will make a fine Democratic presidential nominee.

The Martha Coakley of the presidential sweepstakes. Will she lose in the primary or the general?

Me too. Even though Hillary Clinton is certainly qualified to be President, I am not that enthusiastic about her running to be honest.

Neutral, lean horrible person.

She just somehow sends shivers down my spine, but nonetheless I'd probably vote for her in 2016 just so that I can not be hold accountable for another 2000-like election.

But in general, brrrrr.

A Machiavellian, scheming, self-centred person and because of these qualities, a perfect person for the White House

The misogyny and gender double-standards are strong in this thread...

A Machiavellian, scheming, self-centred person and because of these qualities, a perfect person for the White House

Of course those are only negative qualities when we're talking about female politicians.   Roll Eyes

Um, no? When are those qualities used positively to describe male politicians?

I think the point is, when a male politician is "Machiavellian", it's less likely to be called out as Machiavellian because there's more cognitive dissonance when a woman does it. Politics is Machiavellian. Some people are just better at hiding it than others. Since Clinton's already perceived that way, I'd say that actually makes her less of a threat from the standpoint of political machinations.

By using different, more uplifting words to describe them, as Beet has just demonstrated above.  It is like using 'shrill' to describe Hillary, but using adjectives like 'outspoken' and 'passionate' when that same quality is demonstrated by a male politician.

OK guys you misinterpreted me. It's good she's a Machiavellian and whatever. Those are probably needed traits. Obama isn't scheming enough, and he's a bust. Presidential elections aren't a niceness competition, and I certainly don't think either of the Clinton duo are "nice". But they are effective and they know what is needed to make omelettes.

I certainly would (and do) use Machiavellian to describe numerous politicians male and female.

It's cute that you think she could lose the primary.

She voted the wrong way on the most infamous vote of the 21st century so far when the facts were there to justify voting the correct way, so definitely count me as not ready for Hillary.

I assume you were also not ready for Kerry and not ready for Biden 08 and not ready for Biden 12?

Iraq was a major policy decision. The vote on that war resolution demonstrates how a President Hillary Clinton will respond to the intelligence she is shown by her generals and military advisers. In 2003, she chose to go with panic over WMDs and a destructive war. That is still fair game.

However, to be fair to the former Secretary of State she has said she regrets the vote and this reflects a lot better on what her foreign policy may be as president.
