Of course, the title could end up going the way of Revenge of the Jedi.

Recycled and modified twenty years later?

To be fair, Revenge of the Sith managed the unthinkable: a watchable movie starring Hayden Christensen.

I don't get the blame Hayden Christensen gets for the prequels. Anakin came off as bland and emotionless not because of Christensen's acting, but because the direction and the writing basically made it impossible. It even made Samuel L Jackson look bland. Anytime Christensen wasn't having to say any of the movie's crap dialogue, he came off as a pretty good character in my eyes.

Sorry, can't buy this. His performances were as terrible as the rest of it. A good actor is usually able to lift dreadful material to a reasonable level.

It really was all a perfect storm of complete trash.

Oh I definitely wouldn't give him an emmy or anything, but I mean, what could he have really done with what he was given?

Samuel L Jackson of all people was reduced to this.

Shattered Glass is a good example of how Christensen is not as horrible as everyone thinks.

Samuel Jackson isn't exactly a great actor either though...

I'm looking forward to the film a lot. This title on the other hand is quite a bore.
With Abrams directing, my main worry was that the title would prove to be Star Wars: The Lens Flare Awakens.

Even if that is true, he can still give a better performance than what was shown, but like nearly all the other actors on the prequels, including Christensen, he looked and sounded like a wet towel with the bad dialogue and direction.

I'm not too fond of the title. It's certainly no Empire Strikes Back or Revenge of the Sith in terms of titles, but I'm still looking forward to it and have every intention of seeing it on opening day.

Effects look more realistic than the prequels. There are also actual emotions on the characters faces.  As long as the story makes sense it will be good.

TIE fighters engaging the Falcon over Tatooine? I'll be in my bunk.

Also, Daisy Ridley is pretty good looking.

I had the volume for my speakers turned up by quite a bit, so the black guy at the start scared the sh*t out of me.

Agreed. The jump scene was unnecessary and made me not want to watch the rest of it.

That bizarre jump-scene at the start and the light-sabre with a crossguard made out of energy do not fill me with optimism for this film.

I liked everything except for the obligatory lens flare and the stupid crossguard hilt. I don't care if it's canon, it's stupid.

I don't know how I feel about the cross guard, but that aside I am pumped for this movie

The cross guard makes sense IMO considering how seemingly easy it is to get your hand cut off in lightsaber duels in Star Wars.

Admittedly I'm currently not much of a "Star Wars" fan (besides loving the original trilogy as a child, of course) but that was a pretty decent and intriguing trailer. I actually really liked the start with the Stormtrooper in the desert.

The sounds of the probe droid and TIE fighter lasers really brought up some feel good nostalgia though.

This trailer prompted the obvious question: "Where's Lando Calrissian?"

I wonder what Luke, Leia, and Han will be up to in this new movie.

I think that Luke might be in exile, something like old Obi-Wan from Ep. 4. Or he could be head of the new Jedi Council, like Mace Windu.
Leia might be the Supreme Chancellor.
Han might be a Republic General.

To be honest, I'm intrigued about the potential for an Imperial remnant (assuming the Stormtroopers and the TIE's actually belong to some sort of Empire). I really wish they had used some of the characters from the Expanded Universe like Thrawn and Pellaeon, it would have been interesting to see them.

I found the teaser to be pretty boring but I'm hopeful that the movie will be good.

There appears to be some outrage by the non-racists of America complaining that the reverse-racists are forcing a too-black actor upon their childhood.

Yes it seems very convoluted, I'm sure there are some people complaining about any Black actors in any movie, but it would be nice that we would see some citats or links to the people doing it, instead of saying just saying that someone do it.

Of course what I have found there are some STAR WARS NERDS complaining about him because he's not a clone (of Boba Fett's clone father), which make little sense, as the film are 60 year after the clone war, and I really expect the empire to have embraced some kind of conscription of or just recruitment among the general population the after they took power.

That's exactly what a racist would say.
