Write in: get appointed to the federal bench.

^^If that's what Ralston thinks, I'm going with that.

He'll beat Reid by at least 10 points.

Say goodbye, Reid! (Don't worry, Sandoval will be a far better Senator than you could ever dream of being.)

He'd be an amazing president, too, but our party needs to get a bit younger for that to happen. 2020 or 2024 is where Sandoval should shoot for the White House.

I'm not sure he runs for Senate, but if he does, he beats Reid or another Democrat if he retires.

He's not going to run for president (why would a white evangelical nationalist party nominate a pro-choice Hispanic dude?!), wouldn't be picked for VP, and is not going to challenge Reid.

Why? Isn't his governorship over in 2018 anyways?

He's 51; he'd be 61 in 2024, he'd be at an average age in 2016 to assume the Presidency.

I have no clue what you're getting at. I'm talking about the party base moving more towards the center socially to elect a pro-choice candidate.

If you're banking on future Democratic victories based on painting the GOP as a culturally intolerant, redneck party, you're going to have to get more creative.  Those folks are going to die off.  Just look at the PM scores of the Republicans on this board (who are definitely younger than your average Republican) ... that's the future of the party.

Good God, Rockefeller GOP is the worst. His garbage in the above post was actually worse than Lief's initial post.

Just like he got trounced in 2010, right?

Will Sandoval be able to run for both Senator and President? Or will he face the same challenge as Rand Paul?

Legality aside, running for Senate and President at the same time is a great way to ensure you lose both.

Both campaigns get less overall money, and your opponent gets to talk about how you're to focused on trying to be President to care about the state.

Ralston really thinks that he won't run in 2016. I can see him being happier with some judgeship.

Hint: there's a very good reason Reid has never faced a high-profile challenger except in 1998. That reason is going to keep Sandoval looking elsewhere.

If Reid leaves office, it's because he's retiring or someone with much less to lose than Sandoval takes him on.
