At least Loretta Lynch will be a thousand times better than Eric Holder.

President Obama will have to wait until next year before pushing her nomination thru the Senate:

Dems unlikely to ram through Obama’s attorney general pick

Yeah, it was clear to me she would be confirmed easily when the NY Post endorsed her early on. She's about as good an AG as the Republicans could expect for the next two years.

Obama better use this nomination as a way to drum up support to bring more of his judges, especially Crt of Appeals to the forefront, or else, nothing will be done.

As usual, instead of doing this, along with Torture Report, Keystone Pipeline, and Executive Order on Immigration, Obama waited til after the election to do this and it cost him support. Holder should have been replaced alot sooner than this.

The GOP should have confirmed Lynch earlier. Hopefully an up and down vote is coming soon.

Is this the official thread for the confirmation process?

Good news. I hope she immediately does a thorough investigation of Holder's case files and drops the lot of frivolous and political cases.

might Bernie Sanders pass on her?

Very doubtful.

His status as a respected member of the Democratic caucus is dependent on him supporting his party on procedural votes and appointees.

He voted against Geithner for Treasury, Ron Kirk for Trade, and Brennan for CIA.
