I know some people like Grassley and McCain have indicated they are running again but senators renege on these types of things all the time. I included all of the ones that will be 65 on election day 2016.

If you are a Senator and feel you have six good years left in you there is little reason to quit (unless you have some family issues), So Senators that pass 75 during their next term is a more relevant group. Most people stay fairly healthy to their mid 70s if they live privileged lifes. All the younger ones (less than 70 on election day) are likely to run again.

Anyone in their late sixties can squeeze out a couple more terms. The only one that I can seriously see retiring due to lack of announcement is Mikulski

I would hardly call Senators in their early-to-mid sixties "fossils."

I would hardly call Barbara Mikulski a "bag of bones".

Jesus Christ, Isakson really has aged, hasn't he?
