This position is about to become powerless, if the nix rules pass.

Therefore I think there is a need to either define what the new role will be outside of that role and whether or not that can be and is done will determine whether or not it survives.

I will accept the nomination by JCL and run for the position.

48 hours have elapsed; I'm not sure how we'll work this role if the Nix rule passes but in the here and now there's not really anything I can do besides hold an election for PPT and work out Speaker if and when it becomes an issue. Regardless, I know I do need to hold an election for PPT, whatever that job may entail, now.

Senators, it's time to elect your PPT.

As I understand it, you would just hold another election for speaker. The Constitution mandates a PPT until it is amended out, but ironically the rules governing the election of such will be abolished so it would entirely up to the VP in terms of low long the voter is, the declaration process etc.

Depends on whether half of your colleagues decide to show up to vote on that amendment, but possibly, yes.

I want to congratulate you bore on your likely ascension to the position of PPT, and I look forward to assisting you as I can with regards to the rules. Though as I pointed out there will likely soon be another electio nfor Speaker and whether or not you plan to run for that, I don't know and thus my assistance might be limited since these rules are just as new for me as for everyone else.

I am a big fan of Yankee, but I am supporting bore in this contest.

I think we need fresh blood and bore's proven commitment shows it would not be the wrong move.

Thanks a lot Yankee , and I do plan on running for the speaker position once that goes through in the next day or so.

And polnut, only compared to yankee could being in the senate for 16 months be considered fresh blood Tongue
