Cruz wins. Policy aside, Cruz is an infinitely more talented politician than Sanders.

Is it because a LATINO and a BLACK are on the REPUBLICAN ticket and you need "TRUE AMERICANS" to run?!??!!!!?!

All jokes aside, why would you support Sanders over Cruz? Based on your political positions, I'd have thought you'd vote for Cruz.

I would vote for Sanders/Schweitzer. I don't really like Sanders, but I'll take him over Cruz, and plus I really like Schweitzer.

As for who would win, probably a narrow victory for Sanders/Schweitzer or a 269-269 tie.

There would be a big opening for a self-identified moderate third party running in this scenario.

Cruz would probably win. The two extreme right wingers would excite the Republican base, whereas the diversity would woo the low information voters. On the other hand, the RAE wouldn't be too inspired by two old white guys on the Democratic side.

A Schweitzer/Sanders ticket would probably be more successful.

Still either way, tilts Democratic (and no, I don't think any sort of Bloomberg/Huntsman/Snowe whatever indy tickets will come in to save the day)

I don't see Barry Sanders as a successful national candidate. It's one of the few situations where Cruz could actually win, and I think he'd crack 300 EVs easily. Possibly even 400.

Mia Love won't be on the ticket in 2016, and Ted Cruz absolutely wouldn't pick her.

But in this hypothetical:

All jokes aside, why would you support Sanders over Cruz? Based on your political positions, I'd have thought you'd vote for Cruz.

I don't really like Cruz (I'm not an avid Muh Small Government type of guy), and I like Sanders's economic populism. I also don't think the GOP should be rewarded for getting such extremists on both slots.
