It's three years out, so he could always 'change his mind.'

Having said that, Gillespie and Obenshain had pretty similar campaign staffs. Obenshain did a fair amount of campaigning for Gillespie too. I do not see them competing for the nomination.

I personally hope Gillespie goes for Governor, and someone like Comstock or Rigell goes for the Senate seat. But it's too early to know.

Not sure how I feel about this. Positively? Herring doesn't have to face as stiff competition.

Gillespie closing the margin in NOVA would be far more dangerous for Herring than Obenshain's rural appeal in an off year.
