Reminds me of the 2010 story about how AFL-CIO volunteers were getting out the vote amongst people who voted Dem in 2008 for Strickland I guess, only to find them listening to Rush and Beck when they arrived.

I can report that in Georgia, the phone banking efforts from April onward were almost exclusively focused on persuasion until the final week, at which point it seemed to shift toward a mixture of the two. It made sense to do a lot of persuasion, but I did wonder how/if any operations in the state were focusing on turnout as well.

Wow. What a failure of a campaign plan.

It's all about convincing the mythical undecided centrist voter who votes for the candidate who is closer to their "centrist" views rather than a candidate who stands for anything. Who cares about your base who would vote for you if they had a reason to go vote?

Obama used venues, where large people gathered to create an atmosphere, or movement to galvanize voters to vote in both election bids, to get especially people that normally wouldnt vote, voted.

The failure, was getting new voters registered to participate in this election through Obama means to come out, especially with Dems not trying to run on his record.
