And yet it's still extremely high for the Western world.

Seriously, happy to see this positive trend, but it's not exactly confirmation that American gun policies are a good idea.

A lot of this is simply that our healthcare system continues to get better and better. If the victim doesn't die, it's not a murder. Granted, they get an enormous amount of practice, but the doctors at Memphis's trauma center work miracles.

Well, of course.  The era of leaded gasoline is further and further in the rear-view mirror, so this is exactly what we'd expect.

Thanks, regulation!

I bet 2014 will be even lower for murder.  The cool summer really reduced the murder rate in some of the major cities in the Northern cities.  Even so, we shouldn't pat ourselves on the back yet.  The crime rate is unacceptably high for certain populations, even if this country feels safe for the majority of people.

This despite gun sales going up every year for 11 years in a row.

Meaningless statistic though.  It only takes one gun to shoot someone.  These increased sales are simply more people owning 5 guns instead of one.

The relevant statistic is the number of households with zero guns.  That number has steadily increased over the past 30 years or so.

Good, good. Guns should still be illegal, of course.

But your savior hasn't even tried to get meaningful legislation passed, Lief.  Lots of feel good executive order scata.

Even though I'm pro gun - though anti-regulation toward guns - that correlation is fairly spurious.

oh... guns and media ignorance; I thought this thread would of been about academia's claim that their electorate, the dems - to stupid too get - that they “The Gov. aka Obamacare” is in control of their life, according to a goober at MIT. Of course, just more evidence for academia’s liability for the national debt. More guns, please.

Ok, I’ll revise and extend. The title suggests that the media ignores good news – good news in the sense of good news for us the indentured servants, bad news for the media, the weapon of mass distortion for the democrats war on Americans’, because… it doesn’t fit their template how things are suppose to be better.
You are aware that Professor Gruber of MIT, one of the main authors of Obamacare, tells other academes’ that Obamacare passing required its voter base of democrats to be stupid, this is quite relevant when it comes to insurance fraud on such a large national scale.
What I’ve notice in just the last hour or so, stories of this are being deleted or server crash. This became widely known 3 -4 days ago, the oldest story now is 3hrs. There is video of his presentation on at lease 3 different occasions (dates) over the past year or so.  U of Penn. pulled then put back up.
