Wulfric to Mark Kirk: Shut up!

(And no, this does not change the fact that I endorse him for reelection. Chicagoland democrats are among the worst in the party.)

Your attempt to tie Duckworth to the machine is worthy of a comms spot with ILGOP - expect the same baseless claims to be made in the coming months on the big stage

Nice Sarcasm.

Kirk has a tough fight ahead, but he's hardly DOA.

With Kirk's proven lack of a filter (not just limited to this "Iran appeasement" crap) he's working hard to change that.

Wow, you'd think someone who's already the underdog in a senate race would watch his mouth more.

I really do wonder how much of this is due to the stroke he suffered not all that long ago.

Kirk has always been a huge hawk. Why are people on Atlas still surprised by this?

Damn, this is going to be a nasty campaign. Anyway, it would probably be better for Dems if someone else won the Primary IMO. Duckworth is a very overrated candidate.

Perhaps. Though I would say that Duckworth neutralizes two advantages that Kirk would usually have: 1) sympathy for his physical handicap (I think "lost both legs in a war" wins over stroke in terms of sympathy points, though both are tragic), and 2) military service.

Also, I am highly amused by the fact that the anti-Duckworth ads never mention that Duckworth is a veteran, and take great pains to avoid showing any pictures of her where the viewer could see her prosthetic legs.

That ad is least affective now, since Blago's convictions have been overturned based on campaign financing.

Well, why would he? Of course he wouldn't bring that up in his own ad.

Kirk is the Blanche Lincoln of the cycle. I don't think negative ads are going to even come close to saving him.

Oh, of course he wouldn't, but it seems pretty clear that he's terrified of voters realizing that Duckworth isn't exactly the average Chicagoland politician, even if there are (weak) allegations of corruption against her.

Top GOP fundraiser calls on Sen. Mark Kirk to step down. Then takes it back.

Unless they convince Bob Dold to jump in, I don't think Republicans have a better shot to win this seat than with their own Senator.

I continue to stand with Mark Kirk, a true Senator for the people. His foreign policy views have never been different in the past, why are people so shocked all of a sudden?

Moderate Senators such as Kirk, Collins, Bayh, Lieberman, Landrieu etc...have always been hawks on foreign policy. Only notable exception in recent years is Joe Manchin, it seems, with some of his questionable votes on fopo and national security over the past few months.

Dupage & Lake counties probably voted for the last GOP statewide officeholder & for the wrong Gov. Bruce Rauner, who like Kirk have made questionable decisions. Like defunding hospitals.  As 2016, will the veto proof state legislature substain itself.

Duckworth isnt an average Dem, like Foster, she is from greater Chicagoland, suburbs. That makes her a better fit as a candudate😍

Foster is also from the suburbs, but I understand what you are saying. Duckworth is very well known and popular in the suburbs, which makes her the perfect pick to go against Kirk, whose ace in the whole has always seemed that he could rely on solid wins in the suburbs, something few Republicans can do these days. Duckworth will make the area competitive.

He was the one Republican to vote against defunding PP. He's so scared of re-election, he really is.
