Anyone know where I can find data on this...or at the very least for the town level? Ideally looking for something I can put into excel, the only thing I've found is some crappy pdfs on the state website which don't help very much.

Any advice is appreciated.

And here's the map that I made. Some of the results submitted by various towns are obviously bogus.

I made a statewide database of election results back in college. I spent the summer of 2012 contacting every town and city in the state with more than one precinct and spent about $1500 on photocopies, gas and postage. You should be aware of the fact that Connecticut's election reporting is a decidedly 20th century affair.

Town data works fine as well. Is there any place I can find the actual raw data though? Trying to do some GIS work...

The 11/4/14 data is empty but I assume when it is finalized it will look like the previous reports

Thank you, this should work

Hmm, did passing gun control save Malloy due to swings near Newtown?

Hmm, did passing gun control save Malloy due to swings near Newtown?

Malloy increased his margin of victory by 20,000 votes from 2010 to 2014. There wasn't a pronounced GOP swing elsewhere in Connecticut from which Fairfield County could have "saved" Malloy. Most of the swing near Newtown is actually from Danbury - its mayor was Foley's running mate in 2010.

I will note, however, that the only Republican state legislator to lose reelection, Michael Molgano, was also the only Fairfield County representative to have voted against Malloy's gun bill.
