Tester to DSCC, Warren to a post Reid created for her.

Both excellent senators, hopefully both excellent leaders as well.

I don't see why McConnell should care. Plus he made Cruz NRSC vice-chair...

Tester might not want to get too tide to the leadership. Voting 95% of the time with Reid is not a good place to be entering a reelection cycle in a midterm come January 2017. Especially if Clinton is President as Montana is not a place where Clinton is going to be much more popular than Obama.

Ah, Politico just can't resist the opportunity to call Democrats extremists for no reason.

Tester is a good pick for DSCC. Better than Coons at least. Hopefully either Castro or Edwards for DCCC; Himes would be a disaster.

Another spot of nice news: with Tim Johnson's retirement the Democrat's top spot of the Banking Committee is now open. The next highest ranking senators are Reed, Menendez (who have other commitments) and Schumer, who wants a leadership position. So that means the next Democratic leader is none other than arch-populist Sherrod Brown. Cheesy

Edwards would be awful.  What's wrong with Himes (FTR, I'd prefer to see Castro get the post)

What's wrong with Donna Edwards (other than having 3 DC Maryland suburban reps in leadership)?

If the Democrats think that their problem is they aren't liberal enough, then they sure are setting themselves up very well for 2016 Roll Eyes

She strikes me as a potential Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  I could be wrong, but it's just the gut vibe I get.

You don't get it, do you? The only reason Dems didn't do well in 2010 and 2014 is because the base didn't show up.

Because 2014 really showed how helpful running to the right is for Democratic candidates.

Probably because they all happened to fall into comas. Certainly there's nothing wrong with the Democratic brand.

Things could be worse; we could have the Republican brand Tongue

Guys, guys, you're all right. Del Tachi and Vosem are entirely right about Democratic branding and messaging being an ungodly incoherent mess right now, and KCDem and X are entirely right about Republican reliance on low voter turnout to win elections saying very uncomfortable things about the party's philosophy.

Himes is the personification of a right-wing Wall Street Democrat. Which makes sense considering the district he represents, but the candidates he recruits and the messaging he pushes would be terrible.

Liberal purity movement.

By 2016 they'll be arguing over who burns the most gasoline and eats the most GMOs. Personally, I'm not voting for any Democrat who has ever touched money. They can't be trusted!!

Good thing Warren only deals in wampum.
