Kind, he's younger and if he wins would build up seniority for the state while Feingold is in his 60s and likely run for a term or two at best.

Mary Burke wasn't a joke.

That said, Feingold has the best chance.

Feingold has the most name recognition, and seems best able to offer a clear alternative to Johnson. It is worth noting the failures of statewide officeholders trying to return to offices they lost. Succcessful rematches are rare.

Kind seems like a generic Democrat.

Gwen Moore isn't young, and doesn't seem to be the best fit for statewide office.

Soglin's kinda old, although his record as Mayor of Madison has been successful.

Pocan is a gay man who has followed Tammy Baldwin to her State Assembly seat and her US House seat. It might get to be a negative, though California seems happy to have as its Senators two Jewish women from San Francisco.

I think Generic is probably the Dems best bet against Johnson.

Feingold is both the best candidate and has the easiest path to victory IMO

Also neither Kind nor Burke nor Barrett are joke candidates

Is it even sure that Johnson will run again? I remember when many people mentioned not that long ago that he got bored quickly with the senate and doesn't even bother to pretend otherwise whenever he talks about that.

Feingold or Kind. Barrett may lose again if he ran for office.

I'm a Republican, so I want Gwen Moore to run since she will lose.

Feingold if he wants it, but I voted Marc Pocan because I don't think Feingold is coming back.

I would love for Tom Barrett to run. Also, if Ron Johnson doesn't run, then I think Wisconsin Republicans are in slightly better shape.

Feingold would be 63 and Kind would be 53 when they would be sworn in and Feingold is the reason Johnson is in office today I just don't understand the rationale behind his candidacy. Democrats need younger Senators in their caucus.

I think when a party runs a candidate who has lost Statewide before, it get's dicey.

That being said, though, Feingold probably is the best candidate.

Feingold was just beloved by progressives when he was in office, so they want him back.

Not necessarily. But Feingold is not the answer here. He always underperformed and any other (serious) Democrat would not have lost to Johnson.

I worry Feingold will make the same stupid mistake he did in 2010 and not allow outside money to be spent on his behalf. I don't think he's suited for the Citizens United era.

Sure, as long as you don't count running five points ahead of John Kerry in 2004.

ITT: Macklecrats decide to bash the best Senator of the 21st century because he's too old and sound the horns for the chair of the New Democrats.

Jesus, if you want new blood at least stump for Pocan.

Ron Kind is the strongest candidate. Feingold is old news and isn't as strong (or smart) as others claim he is.
