This should be interesting. Personally, I think he should go back to MA, return to the state Senate to rebuild his profile, then either run for MA-06 in 2018/20, or run against Markey in 2020. He's young enough that he doesn't have to run for federal office again right away.

See, I think Brown really screwed himself doing what he did.  He would probably be the governor of Massachusetts right now if he hadn't moved.  It is obvious to everyone now that he's simply doing anything he can for political gain, and I don't feel like Republicans are really going to want him when they can find better recruits elsewhere.  He basically threw away a winnable governors race for a long shot at a senate seat in another state.  Whether or not he likes it, I think he's done.

He should run for Massachusetts Senate in 2018, but Warren may beat him again.

If he does anything, MA Governor is probably his best bet.  However, going to New Hampshire might have ruined any chance of that.

I don't think he can go back to MA.

If Hassan runs against Ayotte for Senate, he might consider running for Governor. The party might prefer otherwise, if there are concerns he'd drag down Ayotte. It is worth noting that his loss was narrow. Democrats aren't cutting ties with Begich or Hagan after their losses.

Other than that, his best bet might be to cash in on his Senate ties and name recognition. He could try to go back to being a Fox contributor, and aim to be a campaign surrogate for one of the top Republican presidential contenders. He is a plausible cabinet member.

He should just get out. He runs these scorched to the earth campaigns that make him look like a total jackass, and it simply doesn't work.

He's locked out of Mass Gov until at least 2022 because of Baker's win; a primary is unthinkable. I try to think of him running for a constitutional office in Massachusetts—after all, raising his profile for a future statewide run is why he ran for Senate in 2009 in the first place—but it's hard to imagine him not coming across as stale and desperate if he did.

Bob Smith moved to Florida, Dan Quayle moved to Arizona. Maybe Scott should move to a fast-growing state and try again.

Probably crawl back into his hole. No one wants to elect a guy that hops around to different states trying to get elected. And why is he treated as something so special that what he did won't destroy his career? He was a one term senator in a Republican wave who got swept out handily at the end of his term...

He is probably going to move to Maine in order to challenge in order to Chellie Pingree.
After losing to her, he will probably move to New Brunswick and so on ...

Definitely primary Kelly Ayotte.  And then after losing that contest, he could move to Maine and run as an Independent for ME-2.

He made a ridiculous political decision moving to New Hampshire. He was widely popular in Massachusetts, and I believe he had a political future in this state, whether running for Governor, Senate or even the House in the future. Losing to a Democrat in a year where Barack Obama is on top of the ticket in Massachusetts is nothing to be upset about in my opinion, especially earning 46% of the vote with that electorate.

But besides that, I think he performed relatively well against Shaheen for a guy that received as much negative press he did (not saying he didn't deserve it), and I am saying that as a huge fan of Scott Brown, so take that as a grain of salt. Of course, any other candidate probably beats Shaheen, but I think he ran an incredible campaign in the final month, which helped erase a double digit deficit in the polls. I think he is a great politician, and will run and should run for Governor of NH in the future, maybe in 2018 or 2020.
