Requirements:

 - Must have the Governor of the party
 - Must have both chambers of the legislatures controlled by the party
 - Must have at least half of statewide elected executive offices of the party (other than the Governor)

Wow @ Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Only 7 states are completely controlled by Democrats. Ouch.

I would have thought that North Carolina would have been blue.  But, sure enough, six of the nine statewide elected executive offices are held by Democrats:   SoS, AG, Insurance, Public Instruction, Treasurer, and Auditor. 

Lt Gov, Ag, and Labor were won by a Republican.

New York is 1 state senate seat away from being red and Iowa is 2 state senate seats away from being blue.

Even if the Democrats had gained the State Senate, New York's Governor is a Republican Tongue

Washington also has one Republican statewide officer (SoS Kim Wyman).
