Maybe. There is no reason to believe that the edit was anything more than a random editor who just read an article listing possible candidates.

Let's hope - Duckworth is probably the weakest congressional candidate there.

Quigley would be better than either of them.

That's a laughable assertion

She snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in 2006, and only won by an underwhelming margin against an unpopular congressman in a district that was drawn for her

That's a very Republican district down-ballot. She would also neutralize any "sympathy vote" Kirk might get, as crass as that may sound...

Joe Walsh was not a generic Republican; he was a Broun/Bachmann-level nutjob.  Actually he's more of a pseudo-tea-party con-man since he ran for congress as a pro-choice and pro-gun control moderate in 1996 Tongue  He's also a dead-beat Dad who went on vacations to other countries while refusing to pay child support while lying about being unemployed, IIRC.  Then there's the fact that he was evicted from his condo and that he refused to pay some of his campaign staffers.  Oh and Walsh also had a bunch of federal and state tax liens.  There was also that time he advocated feeding illegal immigrants to alligators.  Duckworth beat him by only 10% in a district drawn specifically for her in 2012.  Losing to Roskam can be forgiven since it was a more Republican district down-ballot and Roskam was a very strong candidate.  Only beating Walsh by 10% in 2012 means she'd probably lose to Kirk.

I never said he was. But the media would eat up Duckworth's story.

The local media ate it up when she ran in 2006 and 2012, not that it did her much good.

Bustos-I don't know about her running for US Senate. She has only served 1 term in the US House and is getting ready to serve a 2nd term. Than again Steve Daines(R-MT) only served 1 term in the US House and is now a US Senator-elect.

I don't know about Duckworth running for US Senate. Again she is like Bustos serving one term in the US House and ready to serve a second term. I actually could see Bustos being a US Senator one  day. Duckworth I don't know if I could see her being a US Senator.
