Topping the list is of course Sandoval, who Ralston assigns a 70% chance of beating Reid and 10% chance of running. Other top names include Heck, Amodei, Krolicki, Robertson in that order. Krolicki seems the likeliest non-Sandoval candidate.

So long as there's no clown car and the surfers stay on their beach.

Ralston addresses a retirement scenario. If Reid retired he would tap Masto, who deeply desires a Senate seat, as his successor. IIRC he's also said on Twitter that Masto could challenge Heller in 2018.

So of the non-Sandoval candidates, that leaves Krolicki or Roberson. Per Ralston, Sandoval might have a major session ahead - would he be able to leave that in Hutchison's hands? Ralston said waiting till that ends is dicey timing.

Would Hardy run just to avoid another campaign against Horsford?

He's not even on the list, so doubtful.

The new Assembly Speaker won't be it. He's Gohmert-level batsh**t.

His site and newsletter will still be around, he's not going anywhere.

Sandoval: no timetable, session most important.

Ralston predicts Reid is still in and Sandoval still out. Reid scheduling fundraisers, speculation about retirement continues.

An interesting scenario is if Reid retires and Sandoval doesn't run, so Masto v. Krolicki or Roberson.

Krolicki said he'll consider running if Sandoval doesn't.

Sandoval all but told Ralston yesterday he isn't running. "Do you really think, if this is my last session as governor, I would propose the things that I proposed last night, thinking I might be on a ballot?" Krolicki would still be a solid candidate though.

Reid told staff he's definitely running. Ralston thinks Roberson is Reid's likeliest opponent.

Ralston says Reid is probably running but for the first time he's hearing very faint doubts. Roberson will be the Pub candidate and will announce after the session finishes in June. Problems are that Roberson is little-known, has never been in a pressure cooker, could be severely damaged if Sandoval's agenda fails, and is thin-skinned. Plus Roberson will have a primary - it could be former LV councilman Beers, who's already running, or one of the row officers (only names Laxalt).

Reid's hated but Masto wouldn't have his skillset.

Krolicki's still thinking about it but Ralston's strong implication is that Krolicki won't ultimately run. Besides, there's no real difference between them and both are Sandoval loyalists.

LVRJ's report card on both teams.

Masto: A+ fundraiser but has never run a competitive race.

Krolicki: B fundraiser, only mediocre name ID, plus has that old indictment as baggage.

Hutchison: A-rated fundraiser but relative novice. Close to Sandoval.

Roberson: B fundraiser, never run statewide, but does have a Clark base. Wide-open right flank.

Laxalt: A-rated fundraiser, name ID, but inexperienced with recent baggage.

Hutchison is sniffing around DC. Roberson is also making moves but won't say anything till session ends.

DSCC and EMILY's List support Masto, who's announcing this week.

Via Alexis Levinson, strange Pub poll which has Titus up on Masto 44/20 in a hypothetical primary.

DSCC endorses Masto.

Heck and Titus still considering, Ralston says Titus unlikely.
