De Blasio is more concerned about controlling the reigns of his mayoralty than anything else.  He'll likely see a primary in 2017 and, if the election were held today, he'd get smoked.

that "article" doesn't even address the fact that de Blasio managed Hillary's campaign in 2000?  the "leader" probably doesn't even know that.  idiocy.

Yeah, anyone with a brain cell knows this is BS. But hypothetically, who would even fund this endeavor? Hillary has a lockdown on the NYC donors. That's why Cuomo, even with his brazen lust for power, won't even consider running for president unless she bows out.

There is no way a mayor of NYC is getting elected president.
Well it didn't work for Giuliani. Remember he was once a contender for the presidency in 2007. Giuliani skipped the first 2 campaign stops(The Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire) though.

Rudy support had no depth and there was no way he was getting the nomination once they realized what voting for Giuliani meant besides voting for America's Mayor.

Cox was the idiot that basically cost us NY-01 in 2010 because he tried to insert a relative into the primary and forced Altschuler to fend him off. Considering her lost by a few hundred votes, all that time and energy in the general could have been the difference. I wouldn't be too interested in what he says.

If the election is held today, Stringer wins.

Mayors tend not to do well in Presidential elections.

He's no Ben Carson (Mr. I'm going to run for President despite never being elected to office before).
Well President Dwight Eisenhower never was in the US Congress,  nor was he a Governor of a state. He was however a "Chief Of Staff Of The Army" and "General Of The Army". He also held other positions in the Army during his military career.

Eisenhower was a beloved war hero, which was more than enough to balance his lack of political resume.

I don't think many incumbents lose if they have  a 49% approval rating on election day.

Bush W's approval rating was 50% on Election Day 2004 and Obama had an 51% approval rating on Election Day 2012 and both won.

Both married to black women.

But, seriously, don't act like the two parties are mirror images of each other.  Just because you have a certain number of crazy people, doesn't mean we have an equal number.  Are there awful, unhinged, weridos in the Democratic Party?  Yes, but they are a minority, and we don't let them lead our party and we don't craft our policies to cater to crazies.

The Republican Party has become a far-right party that constantly caters to the lowest common denominator.  The Democratic Party has not become the mirror image of that.  The fact that De Blasio gets portrayed as a left-winger is 99% about the state of our politics and the media, and 1% to do with reality.  I hate this idea that, "oh well Ben Carson believes homosexuality is tantamount to bestiality, and De Blasio believes in trying to minimize pedestrian fatalities, BOTH EQUALLY CRAZY, HUH!"  It's just lazy, pathetic moderate hero thinking.

Who?

Anyone to the political left of Elizabeth Warren.  Joan Walsch or whatever comes to mind as a complete partisan hack with ridiculously liberal views.  Have you ever thought that the fact that you're a Democrat might influence what you view as normal?
