There is no way a mayor of NYC is getting elected president.
Well it didn't work for Giuliani. Remember he was once a contender for the presidency in 2007. Giuliani skipped the first 2 campaign stops(The Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire) though.

Mayors tend not to do well in Presidential elections.

He's no Ben Carson (Mr. I'm going to run for President despite never being elected to office before).
Well President Dwight Eisenhower never was in the US Congress,  nor was he a Governor of a state. He was however a "Chief Of Staff Of The Army" and "General Of The Army". He also held other positions in the Army during his military career.

De Blasio is more concerned about controlling the reigns of his mayoralty than anything else.  He'll likely see a primary in 2017 and, if the election were held today, he'd get smoked.

Like the NY GOP Chairman, you're wrong

ALL: Approve 49 Disapprove 36
DEMOCRATS: Approve 61 Disapprove 24

If the election is held today, Stringer wins.
I don't think many incumbents lose if they have  a 49% approval rating on election day.

Bush W's approval rating was 50% on Election Day 2004 and Obama had an 51% approval rating on Election Day 2012 and both won.
