Best: Gamecube for 3D, Super NES for 2D.  Both are easy choices.  Super comfortable and the buttons just feel and function perfectly.  I literally can't play a 2D game if I could use a SNES controller but I'm not.  The Gamecube has the best joystick on any console ever and the unique layout is ingenious.

Worst: Xbox 360.  Obviously made by people who have no clue what they are doing.  The layout is just a recreation of the first Xbox controller, which got it's cues from the Dreamcast, so that's fine, but everything is stiff and rubbery and just blows.  The D-pad is also the single worst I can think of.

Discuss, nerds.

Checked out of games a long time ago, but I loved the basic NES controller - easy to hold, the arrow keys were fluid, and God, they could take a beating, lol. I think the SNES controller was great too, yeah. It was the "dog bone" design, I think.

Worst? Don't know. You remember the NES Advantage? It was really cool, but very awkward. I'd try to sit with it in my lap and it would always move around. But it was cool on style alone.

Yea man.  I had the worst temper when I was a kid.  I used to slam that things around like nobody's business.  They could survive a nuclear Armageddon, and the cockroaches would be taking up video games.

The Jaguar was excellent for games like Doom, and the D-Pad was good,...but then again, my hands are big and most controllers cramp them up (like the PlayStation controllers)

Was it?  It was advertised as a 64-bit system but lacked a joystick, inexplicably had no shoulder buttons, and only 3 action buttons.  I know it had that keypad, but anybody would have to look down at it to select the options on the overlay.

Am I the only one here that doesn't think the GC controller is the best thing ever. SomecallmeJohnny nearly worships the thing

Yes, HP.

I'm tickled that the Gamecube is making a big retro comeback.  It's become quite popular to collect for.  I bought a GC the day it came out (waited outside Target for hours) and built an incredible collection at one point.  I'll always maintain it was better than the PS2 and infinitely better than the worthless Xbox.  I sold off a lot of those games in my college years at times I was a student desperate for cash, but if I remember correctly this was it:

The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend Of Zelda: Collector's Edition
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time/Master Quest
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Resident Evil 4
Skies Of Arcadia Legends
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Ikaruga
Animal Crossing
Pikmin
Timesplitters 2
NHL Hitz 2002
Super Mario Sunshine
Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time
Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones
Luigi's Mansion
SSX Tricky
Wave Race: Blue Storm
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Phantasy Star Online Episodes I and II
Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey Ball 2
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Sonic Mega Collection
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Soul Calibur II
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

...excuse the reminiscing.  It was a pretty sweet collection, though.  Only 15 or so remain : (

I've always wanted to use that thing just to get an idea for it's disfunctionality.
