It's better than the 49 other states.  The only state that comes close is New Mexico.

Google "Oklahoma people" images. One-quarter of the results are celebrities/rather irrelevant; half of the results are pictures of people crawling through natural disaster debris.

Oklahoma!
Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain,
Where the waving wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.

Oklahoma!
Every night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky!

We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
So when we say,
Yow-aye-yip-aye-oh-ee-ay,
We're only sayin'
You're doin' fine, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, you're O-K!

Eh. Better than the most of the Northeast, besides NH and Maine.

What did the Bos-Wash Corridor ever do to you? I am always defending Florida when people around here bash it. The only thing we envy is its warm weather. Otherwise it seems to have a bad reputation (although not Oklahoma bad, even Utah is better than Oklahoma). I've been to Florida three times and I've always enjoyed it.

I hate what Oklahoma has become since 1980 but it's not a failed 3rd World state.

So because Oklahoma is in tornado alley it is a terrible state? That seems unfair to the people who live there.

I can't believe I'm the first one to post that in this thread...
