Why do you insist on criticizing every single employment decision I make?  If I went for a data entry job, they only pay $8-$10 an hour, at most $11.  I can't make it off of just $10 an hour.  $13 an hour is much better.  I'm trying to shake off my parents' help before I turn 30 years old and I can't do it if I'm only making $10 an hour.  It will be a lot easier with $13.  Also, I've been trying to find something close to my degree field since I graduated 4 years ago.  This is the first thing I've found.

If Pa Bushie even knew a tenth of what was to come he would have been much, much more inspiring.

On a little more serious note, I am into the third month of this contract.  There is talk that we may only have as little as seven weeks remaining.  That would put the end date on February 27.  That would give me six months total experience in CAD, which could prove very valuable when applying for another position.  If the contract does indeed end on that day, or anytime on or before March 20, then I will likely return to Tulsa since I still have the apartment.  I have to make my decision on the apartment by March 31, so if this job ends by March 20, I will have time to get back up there and re-up on the apartment for six months going through November 30.  If the contract ends after March 20, I will go up there and turn in my notice and begin the process of looking for an apartment in Oklahoma City and move my stuff down here sometime in April or early May before I turn in the keys in Tulsa.  So, the possibility exists, and is strong, that I may be back in Tulsa in 2 months or less.  If the contract ends on February 27 like I am anticipating, I will probably go up to Tulsa that next day on February 28 and spend the next week returning everything back to Tulsa, as far as mail and other things and I will immediately start looking for employment.

If this job ends before the time I have to make a decision, then I could move back up there and avoid having to drop a grand on movers to move my stuff from the apartment in Tulsa and an apartment in OKC.

What would be your suggestion?

1. Don't bother with Tulsa, you were never successful there
2. Move your own stuff if movers are really that expensive
3. Get a job as a mover if movers are really that expensive

Move to OKC anyway.  If you need your family to fill in the gaps, then you should stick close.  Realistic, not idealistic.

Does Bushie even have more than $1000 worth of stuff in his Tulsa apartment. Just call the Salvation Army. They'll come by and pick up just about anything for free.

1.  I can see your point.  Of course then, I had no experience but school.  Now that I will have six months under my belt, perhaps things will be different.  Although, if I did stay in OKC, I could stay at the church I attend now and continue to minister and serve there.
2.  We don't have enough strong backs.  Dad's back is not very good anymore and my back isn't very good because of my weight.  On top of that, we don't have the vehicles necessary.  By the time we rented a big U-Haul and loaded it all up with my stuff, it would get quite expensive in its own right and we would both be down on our backs for weeks to come.
3.  That's not a bad idea.

Tulsa is not that far away, but I am doing pretty well with getting out of their checkbook.  I'm not totally there, but I am doing much better.  Of course, that is with a good paying job, but I'm pretty sure I could get a job pretty quickly in either OKC or Tulsa and get out of their checkbook completely.

I've got probably $2,500 or so worth of merchandise.  This is all stuff I want to keep and not have to buy again in a new apartment (like a bed, tv, loveseat, kitchen table, computer desks) so the Salvation Army is not logical.

if the goal is to get out of your parent's checkbook, why are you renting an apartment you arent living in?  why do you have a super duper cable package in that apartment?

Bushie, do you realize you have delayed Papa's retirement by years?  The poor guy has to work with a bad back for several extra years because you can't get out of his checkbook. Ugh.

I'm doing really well at this job.  My boss has commented several times that he is pleased with all of our work and that he has no worries about the work getting done and getting done right.  There are things I need to improve on, but everybody has those, and I'm doing a pretty good job of working down the checklist.

Actually, that's not true.  He didn't start working at this current company until 1999 and needs to get 20 years in to have any kind of retirement.  That would be 2019.  He said he plans to work until he turns 70 which would be in 2022.
