I hope bushie is telling the truth and this isn't another story he made up to get us off his back. Since all of this requires effort and going to the store alone to shop, I'm worried this is just a farce, but I hope I'm wrong.

I hope we see a picture of it today too.

I'm not sure how to post it to the forum using my phone, so I'll post it on FB and tag you and Grumps and you can post it on here for every one's verification.

Grandma told me that she'll fix more vegetables tonight and future nights so we can eat at least somewhat better in the evenings, too.

Are you helping granny cook? Or at least doing the dishes afterward?

So, since you've mentioned that you are never rude and refuse what you are being served, I expect you will extend such Christ-like courtesy to leafy greens and tomaters.

Memphis, she will likely have dinner ready when I get home, so I'll do the dishes.

You think granny is going to "fix" leafy greens for Bushie? She might open a can of spinach. But I very much doubt it.

It's likely Granny hates greens as much as Bushie does. However, some KID APPROVED Spinach recipes linked above should satisfy the Browns.

I posted my meal on FB, just waiting on someone to bring it over here.  It was quite tasty.

Praise God! He's actually doing it!

Now the questions are

1.  Will he stick with it?

2.  Will he work out?

1. That's my plan

2. Baby steps.  Let me get used to one change at a time.

They're certainly steps in the right direction, and assuming you've got that wrap filled with turkey, lettuce and a few other things (maybe tomatoes and peppers?), it's a hell of a lot better than a ham sandwich!

Does anyone else have recommendations for Jeff -- simple lunches that aren't so dramatic a change from his normal diet but are far and away healthier? I think it's great that he's started integrating fruit and raw vegetables into his lunch, but turkey wraps day after day would get old for anyone (although he maintained the ham sandwich diet for some time!). I just don't want to see any relapses into fast food because of lack of options.

LOL, of course there is a soda.

My meals are usually pretty simple. For breakfast, I have a cup of special k with some sliced banana, and a cup and a half of grapes after. For a snack, I'll have some celery. Lunch is a black bean boca patty on a sandwich thin with some low fat cheddar, and carrots to go with it. Mid-day snack is either coco almonds, or some more grapes. Dinner tonight is an asian style fried rice with brown rice, with some egg whites, and FILLED with fresh veggies that I got from the store.

At no point today, did I drink any thing other than a cup of tea in the morning (no cream or sugar..not a diet thing, just hate them in my tea) and my water.

What's wrong with the pop?  You gloss over a healthy meal and focus on the pop, which has no calories on its own?  That's pretty arrogant.
