This discussion raises a good question - Bushie, can you even see your own tallywacker?

I thought I had seen it all in this thread but there was one line on the last page that actually had me cracking up and literally face palming in public. And it wasn't a comment by Our Dear Friend.

Well, good effort so far eating healthier and I dont see the big deal about the diet soda.  I still drink the stuff.  I know it is not good for me but better to throw down some Diet Cokes than a case of beer or a pizza. For you, I dont think you need a perfect diet-- find something healthier and that you can stick with.  Re-evaluate when necessary.  Educate yourself too.

I have to defend my friend the ham sandwich too.  I usually grab a lb of lunch meat from target for something quick and easy to have around.  The lean ham is usually only 30 calories an ounce, maybe a gram of fat and a 4.5 grams of protein.  I'll throw that on some light rye bread which is 60 calories a slice. You could have a nice nice sized sandwich for 240 calories.

Interracial porn, as a mainstream porn genre, is incredibly bad. It's basically made for self-hating racists. This is less the case when it's a white guy and a black girl, but the treatment of black men by mainstream porn is horrible imo. (Obviously I'm not saying there's anything wrong with interracial sex, just its treatment by the porn industry.)

On the bukakke subject, it depends on how the scene is directed and acted. It can be a very empowering thing for the female actress at the center of it all. It can also just be an exercise in humiliation and degradation, as pretty much the most extreme sort of sexual objectification.

I don't see how what you describe could be "very empowering" unless I am mistaken as to what "bukakke" is. Personally I think it's all objectifying and degrading but I'll take your word for it and leave it at that.

Oh, I think Simfan's devoted at least enough emotional energy to his (richly justified) hatred for Lena Dunham to be aware of that particular concept.

I am aware. Some of those people here brought a pornographic actress to come speak about that sort of thing a few weeks ago, or something like that. I was confused.

If a woman enjoys sex (as many of them do) and wishes to....share that gift, why should her public performance be considered demeaning when that judgment is never applied to men? It is a disgusting double standard. Granted sex can be a distasteful thing, but it does not have to be. There's nothing wrong with embracing sex, so long as one does it in a manner that is mindful of diseases and pregnancy. Presuming women must be victims in casual sex is just as demeaning as slut shaming.

Where did I say I did not find men's public performance of sexual acts repulsive or demeaning?

I like it when memphis makes selective use of feminist buzzwords when it suits his purposes. It's cute.

I like it when you feel the need to reply to a point without remotely addressing the point. It's ridiculous.

Simfan already addressed the 'point' (such as it was) so I didn't feel I had to. What he didn't point out, and which I took it upon myself to point out in his stead, is how absolutely precious it is for somebody whose views on employment discrimination alone render him about one step up from full-blown men's rights activism, and whose views on gender identity wouldn't be out of place for a Hainish Cycle antagonist, to use terms like 'slut-shaming' and expect to be taken seriously.

Bushie here are two good articles from Vox about weight loss, with input from scientists and researchers who actually study this stuff, if you're interested:

I recognize that different women want different things under different circumstances because they are different people. Others seem to take another view, thinking that sex, and indeed any facet of life remotely related to interaction with the opposite sex, must be traumatic for all women in all contexts because Women Are Very Fragile. If one of these people wants to dodge his own very problematic (and frankly, misogynistic) position and instead focus on ad hominems, that's his prerogative.

Oh I vehemently disagree with Nathan on sex issues as much as anyone else on the forum, but I just don't think this thread should be where we talk about what feminists want out of sex.

Lunch time of a very good and productive day.  I'm making a lot of progress and improving today.  I'm going to have another turkey wrap for lunch along with carrots, a banana, and 5 fig newtons.
