What is the marital status of your parents?

One thing I will never quite understand is that an overwhelming majority of my friends have parents who are married. And individuals who I have come in conflict with or have otherwise disliked tend to have divorced parents.

My parents are married.

I excluded the status of "widowed." In this instance, put the most recent status on when both parents were alive.

You can also change your vote if... something happens.

Depends upon one's theology about whether you are still married beyond the grave.  Still married when dad died, and mom continued to wear her wedding and engagement rings until she died some twenty five years later.

My parents are divorced. When you grow up with two people as parents who don't really like each other but don't explosively fight or often express their mutual disdain, it's kind of a shock when they split up. But, once they do, you think back and wonder why they didn't sooner. I guess they did it for the kids. Thanks, mom and dad, for the strange example you've set. I suppose it's better than being "illegitimate."

Americans will always amaze me with marriage.

My parents are together since more than 25 years, but are not married and won't marry.
