If you saw Shaquille O'Neal in the gym, and he told you that he was incapable of dunking a basketball, would you be impressed? That's been the last 4-5 California governors.

Perfect weather. Over 800 miles of Pacific Coast real estate. Hollywood. Silicon Valley. Port of entry for Asian goods. Incredible wilderness and national recreational areas.

But too dumb to get out of their own way. If California was half as smart as Texas, Californians would enjoy the same GDP as Germany.

Cuomo
Scott
Abercrombie
Quinn
Malloy

Honorable mention: Hickenlooper for his perpetual waffling

Basically two Governors that are in the mob ( Scott and Christie)
The two that are manic cryptofascists who are voted for by electorates in a way that doesn't even make any sense (Le Page and Walker)
The MFIC (I'm comparing Brownback's management to Detroit's management) in Kansas, Brownback (whom is enabled by an electorate that is unable to adapt to a changing world or even acknowledge gross incompetence due to obsessive identity issues)

The Republican Party is definitely in a "soulless machine" stage of their organizational life cycle, very similar to what the Democrats were going through in the early 70s (locked out of the Presidency but still the much more powerful party but the American people were only beginning to acknowledge their excess by voting for "the other guys" to be in the White House).

Is there are reason? Is Quinn "just some retard"? Is Le Page "just this cool guy or wonderful person"?

Brownback has been a disaster and LePage is an embarrassment for his state. No one else really stands out.

Have any of you actually been to Maine and seen firsthand what LePage has done?

I guess none of us can include any governors in our lists of states that we have not been to to see what they have done.

1) Scott Walker - Thatcher-like divider and thug
2) Sam Brownback - hates debt, creates a ton of it through massive tax cuts
3) The Criminal - is a criminal
4) Jan Brewer - SB 1070
5) Rick Perry - executes people for breakfast

01. Governor Martin O'Malley (D-Maryland)

Between the regressive taxes, spending hikes, and the determination to push through a liberal agenda post-2012 to bolster his own chances for the Presidency, O'Malley is my nominee for worst governor in the United States.

02. Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-New York).

Disbanding an anti-corruption commission because it threatens your allies counts. So does possible obstruction of the probe's work, and being investigated by the U.S. Attorney in New York. From a partisan standpoint, this is all gravy to me - grist against him in 2018, or what not. He fended off a primary challenge and then a re-election challenge, simply because the guy is somehow both potentially corrupt and inept at handling the political duties as Governor.

03. Governor Chris Christie (R-New Jersey).

BridgeGate. Backstabbing Romney in the back on Election Eve 2012. Appointing a placeholder U.S. Senator that was his friend, in what appears to have been a sweetheart deal to prevent Cory Booker from challenging him for the governorship. (Or smoothing Booker's path). I don't know what meaningful achievements he's pushed through or what he's done that isn't simply in his naked political interests of running for President.

04. Governor Sam Brownback (R-Kansas).

Barely winning re-election 49-46% in a wave GOP year speaks for itself. Way too ideological and has divided the Kansas Republican Party and given an opening to Democrats in 2018 to campaign on not being Brownback. He won purely because of the wave. His budget cuts and tax cuts are so politically unsaleable that it is a testament to his incompetence .

05. Governor John Hickenlooper (D-Colorado).

This guy clearly misread the Colorado electorate on gun control and enacted a number of gun control measures. He paid for it in 2014. Hickenlooper misjudged the electorate as Governor.

NB: I would vote Christie for President, but only if he were the GOP nominee. I don't like him that much at all.

1) John Kasich - Obvious reasons. Senate Bill 5, Senate Bill 310, his cuts to public education, police/firefighters and local governments, cutting income taxes for the rich while raising a regressive sales tax, and his political attacks against anyone who isn't a white, straight male.

2) Phil Bryant - A disgusting homophobe x100. Any Republican can be opposed to gay rights, but this guy signed a religious freedom bill when his own son is gay. I can't stand him.

3) Mary Fallin - The biggest hypocrite on the face of this Earth. SMH that Oklahoma re-elected her.

4) Sam Brownback - You must be really bad if you somehow manage to eliminate the state's entire revenue in less than 4 years.

5) Paul LePage - So......incompetent, yet he manages to be the luckiest politician currently in U.S. politics.

Sam Brownback
Rick Scott
Mary Fallin
Scott Walker
Tom Corbett

I wanted to put Rick Scott on top, but the shear incompetence and disastrous governance Brownback has inflicted on his state is just shockingly awful.
