At this point, it seems the Democratic Party is actively trying to sink her campaign in their bid to please activist liberals. I think the party splits and moderates try to bail her out but leadership and liberals sit it out.
I feel this is a short sighted move (Landrieu would be a reliable vote and a bulwark against a strong GOP majority), but this seems to be a situation where the base is right now the bigger motivating factor to the politicians.
Landrieu wouldn't win regardless of what kind of strategy the Democratic Party tried out...
