My family always shoots for 5pm.  We have small snacks in the early afternoon and drink spiced hot cider and generally convive casually.

What about your family?

Canadians feel free to discuss Canadian Thanksgiving.

Around 3pm usually.  This year we want to be done by 4pm for the Eagles/Cowboys.

Usually about 2pm. And this is the norm for nearly all of my friends and neighbors, which makes me wonder if there is a regional variation to when Thanksgiving dinner is consumed.

(The fact that it's called "dinner" to begin with always seemed weird to me for this reason since I've never observed it being eaten in the evening anywhere other than in Thanksgiving TV sitcom specials.)

Slightly earlier than normal dinner time. Five or six PM. This Thanksgiving for lunch nonsense is not something I am at all okay with.

Between 12:30 and 1:00 pm.  We generally eat light the night before like Taco Salad and then have a small breakfast and then pop the turkey in the oven between 8:30 and 9:00 am.

That'll be a good game for sure.  Two of the best teams in the NFC.  This game will have major division implications attached to it!

Only meal of the day for some of us, so 3:00 or 3:30 usually works for everyone. There are hors d'oeuvres and alcohol prior and then dessert / pumpkin pie about 6:00 or so. It's basically spread out to satisfy everyone.

We usually finish our meal by 1:45 pm and have our pie(s) of choice around 2:45-3:00 pm after the food has had time to settle.  Occasionally, if we get hungry later on, we have turkey sandwiches for a late meal like around 6:00 pm.

The early meal could maybe be a German-American thing, borrowing from the tradition of lunch being the large, hot meal in German society.

Here, it varies by family but tends to be early evening (between 4 and 6).

For me "dinner" is the big meal of the day, whether it is served at lunch time or supper time.

Our family typically aims for 1pm with the understanding that a turkey that takes longer or shorter than expected to cook will alter the start time.

Thanksgiving/Action de grāce isn't usually a big deal in Quebec, where it's mostly a day off with little celebration. Some families may have dinners, but I have no recollection of a family Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm not American, so we generally don't celebrate.

I feel like every day that youre not killed by some ubiquitous but too-small-to-see venomous insect is a day of Thanksgiving on that God forsaken continent.

11 PM the day afterwards.

I'm not even exaggerating, that actually happened one year.

This is why I'd be interested in seeing the geographic variation in this.

Are people in the Great Plains eating early while the English-Irish-Italian-etc Americans on the East Coast are holding off for a regular early evening dinner?

3pm is certainly more of any early dinner than a late lunch, IMO.  What does the Lief clan do with all those open hours before turkey time?  Cook and get sloshed I hope.

Mrs Grumps and I go away so usually 7:30 or 8pm in a top of the line restaurant at the place where we stay.

When I was a kid about 3PM.

The only reason to have it around 1 ish, is there's another opportunity to feast around 6 or 7......ala, Our Dear Friend's family.  Once is plenty, yeah.
