I know, we're still two years out, and so far for 2016 we've only had an AK-Sen forum poll, but seeing the results on Ohio for this should be interesting given how many of you like Rob Portman and this is likely to be one of the big races of 2016.

This is assuming of course that Portman runs for re-election and not for President, and Pillich, a moderate Democrat from the Cincinnati suburbs who ran a vigorous but unsuccessful campaign this year to unseat Treasurer Josh Mandel, seems like a very plausible option at this point to challenge Portman.

So it's your choice! The incumbent GOP Senator Rob Portman vs. soon to be term-limited State Representative Connie Pillich.

For me, it would be an enthusiastic vote for Pillich.

Depends on how big the resentment over this election brings, if it's a big enough wave, Pilich could pull a Democratic Gardner. Although Portman could end up like Mark Warner or Jeanne Shaheen in those circumstances.

But under most circumstances, Portman.

EDIT: I misread this thread, I'd personally vote for Pillich just regain the Democratic majority.

Pillich (D). I don't know much about her, but I want to take back the Senate in 2016 (although defeating Portman probably means we're taking back the Senate with seats to spare).

A vote for Rob Portman is no different from a vote for Cruz, McConnell or Inhofe.

Portman does have a McCain 2.0 vibe to him but is he really that moderate? I guess I could vote for him if he was just against abortion  and not in any way against birth control or stem cell research. Also, Ohio at this point is a reliable light Red State like Georgia or South Carolina down ballot and we can't be 100% certain Democrats can win there in a 50/50 race anymore.  That said about the health of my party in a purple state and the fact SCOTUS could be in full control byThe Federalist Society as a result of 2016 would make we go Pillich.
